Dog Licenses

Residents of Cohocton that own a dog are required to purchase a dog license. A dog license can be purchased at the Town Clerks Office with proof of rabies vaccination. License fees are as follows:

$7.50 for spayed and neutered dogs
$15.50 for unspayed or unneutered dogs (over 4 months old)

Marriage License

In order to obtain a marriage license, proof of age is required. The cost for the license is $40.00 and although the license is issued immediately, the marriage ceremony may not take place within 24 hours from the exact time that the license was issued, The license will then be valid for 60 days. Other information will be required if one or both of the applicants are a minor. More information regarding marriages can be obtained at our office.

Certified Copies - Birth, Death, & Marriage

Certified copies of Birth, Death, and Marriage certificates may be obtained at the Town Clerks Office. Identification is required. Certified copy fee is $10.00 per certificate requested. If you have further questions, please call 384-5454 Ext. 1.

Hunting licenses may be purchased at the Town Clerks Office.

Garbage Bags 30 gallons or less. Quantities of 10 bags or less	$2.00/BAG
Bulk Loads Wayland Transfer Station	$49.00/TON
Couches, Box Springs, Mattresses, Chairs, Dressers, Sinks, Cabinets, Toilets	$2.50/EACH
Major Appliances and Scrap Metal	NO CHARGE

Recyclable Materials: NO CHARGE

Newspaper: Must be dry. Tie in 12" bundles or in brown paper bags. May be mixed with magazines, junkmail, glossies, catalogues & telephone books.

Corrugated Cardboard: Must be flattened and tied in bundles. Waxy surfaces are unacceptable. Cereal or soap/detergent boxes are unacceptable.

Clear Glass: May have labels. Metal/plastic tops must be removed.

Operating Hours - Wayland Transfer Station - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM. Saturday 7:30 AM - Noon. Closed Wednesday.

Garage/Yard Sale Permits

Garage and/or Yard Sale Permits can be obtained at the Town Clerk's office. There is no fee for the permit. This permit must be displayed during Garage/Yard Sale. A fine can be issued without the permit.
